Handmade Wooden Signage

Handmade Wooden signage is a requirement in most conservation areas and places of outstanding natural beauty, in the UK. New or replacement signage typically must not exceed the existing advertisement area and sometimes paint colours must not alter depending on the age or listing of the building.

Durleigh use traditional carpentry and joinery methods in the manufacture of our signs to keep the balance between old and new. If the signage is open to the elements, the use of hardwoods such as Oak, Iroko or Sapele are advised due to the hardwearing nature of these materials, these can be mixed with some more modern synthetic materials as a more cost-effective option, as long as they have a sprayed or painted finish.
